youPark is a mobile app concept designed around first-come, first-serve parking. It helps users discover nearby free parking spaces, compare distance and arrival time, and understand who they are competing with before choosing a spot.

Project overview

This was not just a parking app. It was a race against time.

Parking availability changes fast, so the experience needed to help drivers make quick decisions. The app focuses on nearby spaces, estimated time difference, distance, and active competition in a clean mobile interface.

Our role was to design the mobile app experience, including onboarding, parking discovery, map view, vehicle setup, and profile flow.

The challenge

The real UX problem

The challenge was not only showing parking spots. The experience had to help users make fast, confident decisions while they were already moving and competing with other drivers.

Drivers needed to quickly find nearby free parking spaces.
The app had to show distance and estimated time clearly.
Users needed to understand who they were competing with for the same spot.
The interface had to stay simple enough for quick mobile use.

UX approach

The UX direction focused on speed, clarity, and decision-making. The app needed to answer the driver’s main question quickly: is this parking space worth going after?

Designed the concept around showing not only parking availability, but also the real-time race between users trying to reach the same space.

Focused the experience on clear distance and time information so users could compare options quickly.

Map-first interaction

Made the map view the core product flow because parking decisions are location-driven.

Used onboarding to explain the first-come parking concept without slowing users down before they enter the app.

The UI needed to feel practical, modern, and easy to scan. Since parking decisions happen quickly, the visual system avoids unnecessary complexity and keeps important information close to the user’s thumb.

We structured the app around onboarding, parking discovery, map-based decision-making, vehicle setup, and profile management.
