Services named up front
The hero introduces the firm alongside its four core services: taxes, accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll.
Accounting & Finance / 2023
Designing an accountancy website that tells small businesses exactly how the firm can help.
Ruddocks & Co is a firm of chartered certified accountants working with small businesses. We designed the website and built it on WordPress, shaping it around clear service routes, straightforward language, and visible proof of trust.

Project overview
The homepage moves from a plain introduction of the firm to the services it offers, a funding support section, the story behind the practice, client testimonials, accreditations, and the latest news.
Our approach kept the tone professional but approachable, with one warm accent colour and a structure that answers a visitor's first question quickly: can this firm help with my situation?
The challenge
Accountancy services can read as a long, undifferentiated list. The site had to organise taxes, accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll into something a small business owner can scan, while giving space to funding support, credentials, and client feedback.
UX approach
The homepage is organised around who is visiting and what they are trying to get done.
The hero introduces the firm alongside its four core services: taxes, accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll.
A services section offers separate starting points for someone who needs a tax expert, a registered charity, or a new business being set up.
An instant quote action stays in the navigation, and the funding support section lets a business look up its options from the page.
Client testimonials, accreditations, and partner badges sit together so credibility is established before a visitor gets in touch.

UI and product direction
The visual language pairs the firm's deep green with a warm amber accent, light backgrounds, and a friendly hero with floating service labels.
Our process
We organised the firm's services, audiences, and proof points into a clear page hierarchy.
We designed the hero, service routes, funding support, about, testimonials, accreditations, and news sections.
We turned the cards, buttons, and section layouts into a consistent set of patterns.
We implemented the design as a responsive WordPress website that the firm can update.
Execution
The design was built as a responsive WordPress website. The build focused on matching the design, keeping sections consistent, and leaving the firm able to manage its own pages and news.
Impact
The completed design gave Ruddocks & Co a website that introduces the practice plainly, points each visitor to the right service, and puts its credentials and client feedback in view.
Closing perspective
The project reinforced that a professional services website earns trust by being easy to understand. Plain structure, a consistent visual system, and proof in the right place do more than decoration.
